HISTORY

Bob's love of diving led him from his home town of Genoa, Illinois to Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida where he received his BS in Ocean Engineering. After a ten year career as a project engineer for a south Florida company designing and building saturation diving systems and commercial submarines for the offshore oil market, Bob changed directions. He obtained a general contractors license and began designing and building houses. In the process he began getting requests from other contractors and architects to provide engineering services. Over time the company grew from a contracting business to an engineering firm. RGD and Associates was incorporated in 1988 for the purpose of providing engineering services to the construction industry.

Over the years Bob has not lost his love for building and today spends time in the field making sure the systems designed by the firm are properly constructed. His contracting experience is reflected in the firm's design philosophy of producing construction documents that are readable and buildable. Designing life support systems for manned underwater vehicles, gave him experience in engineering systems for complex environments. It is no less true for the complex engineering required in today's HVAC systems. A successful project requires careful attention to all of the parameters involved and accuracy in the preparation of construction documents. This passion is breathed into the products produced by RGD and Associates.
